- Maximise Sales, find ways to improve and develop sales numbers. This is accomplished by analysing sales performance, monitoring competitor activities and trends, and finding new opportunities.
- Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Motivate sales teams to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
- Recruit, train and develop staff. Respond to all customer queries, complaints, and concerns in a professional manner.
- Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop and arrange promotional activities within the store.
- Prepare detailed reports on sales trends, customer requirements for stock
- Monitor inventory levels and suggested order requirements.
- Utilize sales data to manage, develop and serve existing customers and obtain new ones.

- Must have good decision-making skills, be comfortable leading a team, and have an aptitude for numbers.
- Problem-solving needs to be able to identify problems/issues or faults with sales, the processes, and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively as well as the ability to process information clearly which is vital to the role.
- Leadership needs to be able to motivate various types of individuals and teams and motivate teams to work towards shared sales targets and strategies, so strong leadership skills are a must.
- Customer Focus, a large part of the role is building relationships with customers and putting them at the forefront of their strategies and plans. Previous experience in a customer-orientated role is advantageous.
- Computer Skills, this role requires the ability to utilize data and produce presentations, and have the ability to use computer software to do this effectively.
- Numeracy Skills, regularly analyse data and sales reports, so as to have strong numerical abilities in order to calculate numbers, percentages, and projections.
- People Skills, understanding people's behaviour, identifying skill and training needs of the team. Understanding the disciplinary code of conduct to ensure that all disciplinary measures, warnings, disciplinary procedures, CCMA and labour legislation are adhered to.
- Diploma in Retail Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, Sales Management, or similar.
- Must have 5 to 10 years of Retail Management experience working in a Retail or Wholesale environment, this is not negotiable.
- Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
- Customer service orientated with depth knowledge of business management processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
