Due to market interest in the newly formed small works / special projects division, the business is looking to recruit a Small Works Contracts Manager to join the team and help deliver the projects and grow the department.

You will be pivotal to the success of our clients new division and so must have good construction knowledge, a clear understanding of health & Safety requirements and the ability to work and make decisions under pressure.

The Role
As a Small Works Contracts Manager, you will support the successful delivery of projects and growing the new department.
As well as having operational responsibilities over our clients working supervisors, general handymen and subcontractors on various types and size projects up to 1m in value, you will assist in winning work by creating a network of new clients and a bespoke supply chain to undertake works on a small scale, as well as looking at opportunities for our client to self-deliver.
Providing direction to the Working Supervisor, youll ensure that the strategic direction of the board is implemented and exemplary levels of health, safety, quality and environmental management are delivered.
Additionally, you will:
- Manage resource allocation
- Manage and control the implementation of the plans for projects
- Ensure regular and accurate contract programme reporting
- Ensure that each project team provides regular feedback
- Ensure all projects have a document control system in place
To be considered as a Small Works Contracts Manager, you will need:
- Experience with both NEC and JCT Forms of Contract
- A high level of commercial acumen
- Good knowledge of safe systems of work and health & safety requirements
- Knowledge of construction
- Awareness and commitment to best practice
- Good knowledge of programme management and control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work and make decisions under pressure
- Proficiency with all MS applications and Asta Powerproject
- Willingness to obtain CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications required for the role
