Purpose of Job
Support and enablement of the Commercial Energy Solutions (CES) Sales and Marketing teams in all portfolios i.e. Commercial M&S; Wholesale M&S; Gas M&S. Take the lead or support the monitoring, analysing and improving CES business performance. Key activities will include conducting research, interpreting data and making recommendations based on findings leading the analysis, economic modelling, project management/execution support, and market/industry research to support CES growth ambitions and performance improvement initiatives. In addition, supports the CES strategy development through the analysis of strategy-related opportunities and threats across the business portfolio of assets and product. Ensure alignment across all elements of the integrated business (commercial, supply chain/planning, technical, financial, legal, regulatory etc.).
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Provide business improvement support to the CES Marketing and Sales teams; Management and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Support Commercial Energy Solutions (CES) business strategy formulation; implementation and tracking.
- Monitor and observe activities, trends and developments in different market segments and products application.
- Generate market and techno/economic insights to enable business to adapt to changing markets and competitive situations.
- Provide business, market and technology intelligence in relevant segments, interpret information & provide thought leadership through updates on competitors & overview for key products/geographies.
- Deliver on continuous improvement initiatives when required and find ways to add value to the CES environment.
- Support all new business development opportunities within Commercial Energy Solutions.
- Take the lead or support in the development and maintenance of Business Improvement Tools; Processes and Procedures.
- Support a project's value proposition through modelling different aspects and assumptions, to provide ad-hoc support for projects.
- Prepare required reports, approval documents and presentations to be used in project related meetings.
- Work on multiple projects at the same time in different roles as required, either as project member, as project lead, as advisor or as a coordinator.
- Lead project teams that drives end to-end project development and delivery (from concept design, through feasibility and into implementation.)
- Construct and maintain economic assumptions per project and per pathway, compared to market intelligence.
- Ensure alignment with strategy and partake in strategic initiatives for CES.
- Provide critical insight and knowledge to development of business strategy shaping.
- Follow through on customer enquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Understand underlying industry fundamentals including business models, costs, local/global economics in specific market
- Take the lead or support the tender management process
- Business compliance analysis and first line assurance
- Ability to perform economic evaluations when required
- Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns
- Create models, conduct research and analyse actual business performance against targets
Bachelors Degree (Engineering/Science/Business/Finance) or equivalent (Post grad an advantage)
Minimum Experience
11+ relevant years of experience
Must be able to think critically
Proficiency with MS Office Suite to include Advanced MS Excel
Proficiency with SAP and PowerBI
Profound data analysis experience and understanding of key financial ratios; sufficient understanding of financial basics
