Job description
Have a hands-on involvement in the design, scoping, development, deliver, support and operations of the complete airline reservation and DCS systems
Job / skills and qualifications requirements:
- BSc/BCom in Computer Science/Information technology
- Must be certified in required programming languages
- Experience in UNIX programming advantageous
- Proficient in VB.net, C++, SQL, OOP, XLST, SOAP/XML
- Operating systems: UNIX, LINUX, DOS
- IIS optimization and tuning
- Technical understanding of Departure control system and airline reservations systems
- DBA knowledge, structure and design
- Working knowledge of VPN & WAN infrastructures
- Minimum 3 years or more previous experience with Unix/Linux development environment (Make, ant etc.)
- Previous experience with version control tools like CVS and GIT
- Previous working experience working in a commercial software development environment
- Experience in the travel and hospitality industry, emphasis on the airline segment a definite advantage
- Preferably an individual that has exposure in payment processing solutions (Credit cards, cash payment solutions, etc.)
Competencies – Specialised
- Proficiency in the English language
- Ability to take ownership of legacy software for enhancements, refactoring and trouble shooting
- Database programming skills
