Social Media Marketing Specialist

Duties & Responsibilities

To create and promote a stronger and more focused corporate identity and to consistently present a coherent corporate image and instil a sense of connected unity. Ensuring every rand we spend today is building our brand as an asset for the future, thereby affecting sales and profits but also strengthening our brand equity and customer relationships over time. To not only generate profits in the short-term but also build lasting value and drive future profits.

Social Media Marketing Specialist Main Functions
  • Marketing and communication: Course campaigns.
  • Marketing and communication: CPD campaigns.
  • PR, brand awareness and social media.
  • Marketing collateral and exhibitions.
  • Brand management and editorial services.
Marketing and communication: Course campaigns
  • In-time release of course marketing and communication campaigns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Two specific large campaigns per year for course intakes covering professional certificates and short courses.
  • Campaigns to generate leads for new business, achieve reach expansion and brand awareness.
  • Leads generation and database expansion to convert, resell and cross-sell.
  • Quantitative measure: marketing at various touchpoints (lead forecast, lead increase and lead conversion).
  • Professional quality of output for campaigns (artwork, copy, mailer campaigns, landing pages etc.).
  • Copy generation and design for corporate advertising campaigns (print, online and social media) - professional quality of output.
Marketing and communication: CPD campaigns
  • In-time release of CPD marketing and communication campaigns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Three specific campaigns executed for CPD: Subscriptions, live events, and webinars-on-demand.
  • Create new campaign for CPD subscriptions to track leads including the development of a campaign page.
  • Implement, track, and monitor live event campaigns.
  • Develop a campaign to increase webinar-on-demand reach and awareness.
  • Campaigns to generate leads for new business, achieve reach expansion and brand awareness.
  • Leads generation and database expansion to convert, resell and cross-sell.
  • Quantitative measure: marketing at various touchpoints.
  • Professional quality of output for campaigns (artwork, copy, mailer campaigns, landing pages etc.)
  • Expenses in line or below budget.
  • Optimise cost saving opportunities.
  • Resource management.
  • Quantitative measure: marketing sales at various touchpoints: CPD subscriptions, live events and WODs.
  • PR, brand awareness and social media
  • To position the company as a credible, useful, responsible, caring industry organisation via the following measures:
  • Publish compelling success and positive news stories (various social media campaigns including #ProudAlumni, #TopAchievers - subtly also communicating organisational excellence and customer delight with an exceptional brand experience).
  • Increase in traffic and following of social media platforms.
  • Encourage and activate alumni success-stories and positive reviews on social media channels.
  • Subsequent social media campaigns will be activated expanding our reach and brand awareness in terms of nation building.
  • As a PBO, provide free high quality, technical and valuable content to our followers whilst cross-selling products and services.
  • Empower stakeholders and create trust through information sharing (social media posts, articles, marketing collateral etc).
  • Develop presenter post guide strategy aimed at encouraging our presenters to share upcoming events with their audiences.
  • Implementation and execution of personal development plans.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Diploma/Degree in Digital Marketing/Communication or a related field
  • Experience with social media marketing on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and TikTok.
  • Advanced MS Word.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign beneficial.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and Google Analytics advantageous.
  • PowerPoint Intermediate MS. Outlook.
  • Intermediate MS Excel.
  • Minimum 5+ years' management experience
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in social media marketing, publishing, and communication
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in executing social media communication and marketing strategies.
