The purpose of a software tester is to learn and execute while completing simple projects that focus on a sphere of influence for themselves and the internal team.
Responsibilities
- Test Preparation and Planning
- Estimates the effort required with support from senior team members.
- Full test coverage planned under the guidance of an experienced test lead with the use of templates and full documentation provided.
- Planning should be completed within allocated timeframe and roadblocks raised internally.
- Risk analysis and planning is templatized..
- Test Completion, Review and Improvement
- Responsible for completion of all planned and assigned tasks as well as actively participates in and contributes to overall test improvement.
- Test Execution
- Expected to execute on planned tests around functional requirements, whilst actively trying to resolve execution issues with a view for completion of relevant phase.
- Prepared software and test environment
- Ensures that test components and dependencies are evaluated.
- Ensures that calls are logged correctly for environment setup for test execution or troubleshooting issues and escalates delays when needed.
- Detected & Tracked defects
- Ensures all relevant identified defects are logged and raised in accordance to departmental standards and maintained throughout the defect lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Management
- Expectation to be actively communicating appropriate information to relevant stakeholders in a timeous manner in relation to the project.
- Adheres and Optimises Standards and Processes
- Expected to adhere to prescribed standards and processes and actively raise issues or deviations related to them.
- Test Consulting
- Create test strategy and test approach.
- Live Testing
- Execute Testing on live sites. Responsible for planning and execution of UAT testing on deployment sites
- IT Related BDC/Bcom/Ndip
- 2 Years IT experience
- Understand the SDLC
- Relevant Technical Skill
- Appropriate problem-solving skills
