We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Project Director! Some of the things you will be focusing on are:
- The delivery of high-quality Better Mining Projects and outputs to our clients.
- Maintenance of the Better Mining portfolio and client base, and expansion of the client base (together with the Better Mining Director);
- Assist the Head of the Unit and collaborate to ensure staff are motivated, equipped with the right skills and training to effectively implement their work and maintain a high level of individual and team well-being;
- Additionally, the Better Mining Project Director will be working closely with the other RCS Global departments and respective leads of operations, HR and finance.
Project Delivery
- Day-to-day engagement with complex clients to understand their needs and clarify project requirements, inform about progress on delivery, and respond to queries
- Support Project Managers on their project delivery by advising and guiding as required
- Delegate project tasks, based on team members individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
- Engage in team management to ensure their alignment with the Business Unit Strategy
- Participate in the onboarding process of new team members, ensuring their engagement and continuous development
- Develop Internal Capacity Building to ensure Project Delivery is accurately staffed
- Completing Year End and Mid Year reviews
- Participate in Identifying skill set gaps within the wider Better Mining team
- Participate and engage in the development and delivery of key training needs for the team focused especially on the related to project requirement
- Collaborate and contribute to the development of content or presentations for current or potential clients/projects
- Identify potential new clients or new subjects and discuss those opportunities with the wider Better Mining team.
- Actively participate in external events (i.e. conferences) as a speaker
- Masters degree in Business, Economics, Political Science, Law or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in consulting or a similar field;
- Knowledge of the responsible sourcing industry and the ASM sector;
- Great Communication skills and team building!

- Fluent in English and in French
The position can be based from our offices in DRC, Rwanda or South Africa
