The purpose of this position is to develop the Food Services segment by comprehensively understanding the technical requirements of both new and established customers.
Key Performance Areas
- Collaborate with the wider sales team to maximize sales opportunities in the food services sector
- Expand business within specific market segments by establishing new relationships and identifying business prospects
- Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls and emails
- Skillfully negotiate agreement terms and close sales within authorized parameters
- Achieve budget targets across all channels as set out by manager (Volume and Margin)
- Contribute to market intelligence through surveys related to the market, pricing, and product trends
- Engage in product research and support new product development in the field
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the technical properties of various products
- Provide technical assistance to customers in the market for formulation and optimization of solutions
- Weekly and monthly reporting on activities - figures and market insights
- Creating and implementing a detailed sales strategy for region/ customer base, and product(s) based on national commercial plan
- Managing sales forecasting and updating of planning for production planning on daily basis
- Produce and review product requirement documents (PRD)
- Provide source data for product line communication by defining product marketing communication objectives
- Ensure the budget target is delivered for the product range and deliver updated knowledge of markets and submarkets
- Demonstrate good understanding of market fundamentals in respect to micro and macroeconomic dynamics within the industry
- Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
Qualification and Experience
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Food Science/ Consumer Science or other related qualification
- Culinary arts experience advantageous
- 3-5 years' Food Services industry sales experience
- Valid Driver's license
- Computer literacy and experience on computerized accounting packages
- Well established national customer relationships
