Business Development Manager

We are looking for a proactive BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to join a distinguished law firm renowned for providing comprehensive legal and tax services throughout the continent.

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Employment Type: Permanent, On-site

Location: Sandton, Johannesburg

Job Context

Support the firm in the development and implementation of all sector and practice group business development projects and activities in alignment with the firms strategic business plans. Assist in translating the assigned strategy into annual business development plans for execution, in conjunction with the key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible to serve as a business development liaison point for sector, practice group and business unit leaders, partners and managers by working with them to develop and implement client and sector plans as well as local product campaigns.
  • Drive campaigns that generate business leads, expand existing client matters and drive cross-selling opportunities across the firm.
  • Work with stakeholders to formulate, develop and implement business development plans and campaigns that support their business objectives and the firms strategic goals.
  • Manage the budget of business development plans and campaigns.
  • Follow and monitor legal and sector developments and trends and provide research support to the relevant stakeholders to better assist them in targeting prospective clients and identifying opportunities with existing clients.
Qualification & Experience Requirements

Academic Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 in Management Science/ Commerce -Essential.
Years of experience:
  • Up to 6 years.
  • Professionally qualified and experienced specialists and mid- management.
Area of Experience:
  • Experience in law firm (Consulting/ Advisory) - Essential
  • International experience (Consulting/ Advisory) - Preferred
  • Business Development (Consulting/ Advisory) - Essential
