Purpose of Job
To support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering
to procedures/codes, and utilizing all available support resources to increase stability and maintain
sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Install, connect and commission electrical equipment and measuring instruments with their relevant control devices.
- Proactive identification of equipment failures in advance
- Conduct high level fault finding, repair and inspections on switchgear, control systems, transformers, DC Systems, Cables, Earthing Systems, Protection Systems, Heaters, Motors, UPS's, VDS's (WEG, ABB & Siemens) and Classified Equipment
- Maintain personal safety and safety for others according to procedures.
- Working Knowledge of Simicode overloads & Profibus installations and be able to do maintenance and fault finding.
- Understands and read engineering and electrical drawings.
- Perform senior Standby duties.
- Utilise SAP in the maintenance environment (CMMS)
- Load notifications on SAP
- Track PRs, POs in SAP system
- Participate in Risk Assessments (HIRA) and HAZOPS
- Coach and evaluate learners and junior artisans in own known environment (Knowledge sharing).
- Switching/ Electrical Distribution experience (switching official)
- Grade 12/ N3 with Maths, Science and English
- NQF level 4 Electrical or equivalent qualification ex QCTO certificate
- Trade Certificate (Must)
- Wiremans License (Must)
- 8-10 years experience as a qualified Electrician
- Switching experience
- VSD experience
- Profibus & Fault-finding experience.
- Thyristor maintenance and faultfinding experience
- Heater control maintenance and faultfinding experience
- Work on classified Electrical equipment
- Switching official
- SAP access and use system
- MRDR system usage
- Drivers license (Must)
