Role Purpose/Business Unit
- The Finance Business Partnering team for the Consumer Business Unit provides Financial Planning and Analysis and Decision support to help the unit achieve its goals and offer dynamic value propositions for each customer. We have a diverse team with skills in Actuary, Accounting and Economics that help the business in effective decision making and operational financial planning & insights.
- The purpose of the role is to provide the various leads within the CBU Core, Sales and Distribution environment with financial and analytical support that ensures the key business objectives are achieved. The support provided by the Specialist: Finance Business Partner CBU is meant to ensure efficacy in operational and tactical decision making, which is underpinned by robust financial reviews, using analytics, business and commercial intelligence, and financial modelling. The role will mainly focus to support Terminals & Acquisition and Retention business functions.
- Support the CBU sales teams with financial and investment decision analysis and provide adequate business challenges in the launch and on-going evaluation of A&R propositions
- Manipulation of raw data for building financial models, analysing customer trends/behaviour
- Ability to extract data using SQL/Qliksense/ suitable analytics and convert into actionable insights for business decision making
- Understand the function of A&R/Terminals and key methodologies it is built upon.
- Ability to understand key business drivers and translate sensitivities to the stakeholders
- Written and orally presented material must be of high quality with clear insights and actions for executive management
- Able to provide timely and accurate feedback through internal and external stakeholders
- Support the business to make the best financial decisions by providing financial guidance and challenge to CBU team members through a comprehensive financial evaluation of business proposals for new product launches, pricing changes or targeted campaigns.
- Complete post-investment appraisals to measure the sales performance compared to business case objectives on a timely basis and communicate lessons learnt through to business.
- Support CBU sales team on monthly KPI performance, profitability analysis by product categories
- Provide financial advice on sales campaigns/new propositions to CBU team to support the achievement of the financial targets
- Provide accurate and up-to-date financial models to achieve targeted A&R efficiency and intensity
- Prepare financial analysis and advice for ad-hoc proposals as required by sales team to support negotiations
- Matric is essential.
- 3-year Degree (Quants/ Statistics/Actuarial Science, Business Science, Finance or equivalent)
- 3-4 years experience in Finance analytics/ modelling
- Advanced modeling skills in Excel is a MUST
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills is a MUST
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and assess key risks and sensitivities
- Ability to balance and prioritize competing demands
- Self Starter / Action orientated
