Specialist: Spare Parts & Logistics Nort

Role Purpose

The core purpose of the role will be to support the Senior Manager Spare Parts Management in National Field Operations in establishing and operating optimised spares and logistics processes specific to the Demand, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimisation and Execution activities across the various Field Operations domains. The scope cuts across people, process, facilities, technology, and finances.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Establishing, updating, implementation and monitoring of processes and procedures.
  • Total Quality Management (TQM) and Service Management through FSM and NSS System usage and daily reporting.
  • Continual monitoring and control of Spare Parts outbounding, inbounding, repair cycle, replacement cycle and timeous ordering / procurement.
  • Continual alignment of Stock on Hand vs Run Rates vs Network Inventory and external factors that requires an adjustment on Spare Part holding
  • Introduction of new, alternative OEM or superseding Spare Parts
  • Attend, resolve or escalate quality, non-conformities, warranties, turnaround time, etc. with suppliers.
  • Conduct regular meetings with both Spare Part users (operations) and suppliers.
  • Ensure Master Spare Data correct and updated
  • Cost / Budget management
The ideal candidate for this role will have

Technical / Professional Qualifications:
  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • 3-year Diploma/Degree Elec Engineering, Logistics
  • 3 5 years relevant experience in Telecommunications and/or Logistics and/or Procurement, Logistics, Information Technology/ Business Management/ Commerce/ Project Management certifications (Advantageous)
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specifically in RAN, DAS, Transmission, FTTx and Maintenance related environments and facilities, including backup or alternative power resources. (Essential)
  • 1-2 years of experience or actively partaking in Incident and Problem Management, Alarm Automation, Root Cause Analysis and analysis, audits or investigations in these. (Essential)
  • 1 year of experience or participation in a Test Centre of Excellence or similar environment, for production release of OSS, IT or Mobile Solutions into a Field Force Operation. (Advantageous)
  • Experience or participation could run concurrently or collective 5 years minimum experience.
  • Database systems knowledge e.g., Oracle, SQL, BO/BI Reporting and Data harvesting (Advantageous)
  • Self-starter who can deal with ambiguity throughout a project lifecycle and is an excellent problem solver. (Essential)
  • MS Office incl. PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheets experience (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, and presentation design (Essential)
  • Strong leadership skills, incl. servant leadership (Essential)
  • Extremely organized and focussed
  • Propensity for multi-tasking
  • Deadline driven
The base location for this role is Techno Centre, Cape Town.
