Job Overview:
As a Logistics Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently between various locations. Depending on your license category (Code 8, 10, or 14), you may be tasked with driving smaller delivery vehicles or large trucks. This role involves long-distance and short-distance deliveries, adhering to schedules, and ensuring that goods are handled with care. You will also play an important role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering orders on time and maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:

Transport & Delivery:
- Safely drive and operate a delivery vehicle or truck to transport goods to various destinations.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to the company’s safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Navigate the best routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

Loading & Unloading:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods as required.
- Ensure that all items are securely fastened and that delivery paperwork is completed correctly.

Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure that it is in safe operating condition.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle and that it is kept in a presentable state.

Documentation:
- Accurately complete and submit required delivery logs, trip sheets, and any other necessary paperwork.
- Maintain a record of deliveries and receipts, ensuring all necessary signatures are collected upon delivery.

Customer Interaction:
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Confirm the delivery details with customers and ensure all goods are delivered in good condition.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Driving Skills:
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and competently according to license category (Code 8, 10, or 14).
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.

Time Management:
- Ability to manage time efficiently to ensure timely deliveries while meeting the company’s operational targets.
- Capable of adjusting to traffic conditions, delays, and unexpected obstacles while maintaining delivery schedules.

- Ensuring that all paperwork is completed accurately and that goods are correctly loaded and delivered without damage.

- Good verbal communication skills in English (and other South African languages, where applicable).
