Overview
We are looking for an audit supervisor/manager with 6-24 months post article experience to join the DPP (Audit & Assurance) team, either through a permanent transfer, long term secondment or external hire.
- Purpose of the position
DPP supports financial statement audit methodologies (including ISA, PCAOB, Public sector), reporting and assurance methodologies and other governance and corporate reporting requirements.

- Key roles and responsibilities
- Researching and answering assurance, audit and review methodology and reporting queries for KPMG staff and clients in accordance with International Standards of Auditing (ISAs), International Standards on Assurance Engagements (ISAE), International Standards on Review Engagements (ISRE) the International Standards Reporting Manual (ISRM) and locally issued South African Auditing Practice Standards (SAAPS) and JSE reporting guide.
- Research of and providing support to engagement teams on ESG assurance methodology and assurance reporting matters. This includes involvement in development of guidance, commenting on proposed pronouncements and regulations. It also includes supporting engagement teams on ESG matters considered as part of the financial statement audit.
- Researching and answering audit and assurance queries for KPMG staff in accordance with the relevant KPMG methodologies and standards.
- Reviewing reports submitted to DPP by engagement teams and liasing with the teams on these reports.
- Assisting with the preparation and presentation of audit and assurance updates and training on ISAs, ISRM and SAAPSs for KPMG partners, staff and KPMG clients through the African region
- Staying up to date with developments in both local standards and ISAs through internal research and involvement on local topic teams
- Assisting with updating the various technical tools, work papers and guidance
- Assisting with the monthly compliance reviews to ensure that the trainings achieved the intended results.
- Providing support to the QP process and other regulatory reviews
- Providing support to the EQCR responsible partner in ensuring that the firm appropriately allocated and supports the EQCR roles in the region

- Qualified CA
- 6-24 months post articles experience
- Good writing skills
- Keen interest in researching and dealing with reporting and methodology related issues (including assurance methodology)
- Good working knowledge and understanding of ISA, ISAE, ISRE, ISRM and SAAPSs and JSE guide.
