Introduction

We are looking to recruit a permanent Supplier Administration Clerk to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at Cape Town and will report to the Demand and Supply Planning Manager.

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To expedite purchase orders placed by buyers and assume responsibility for all buying administration to ensure that stock is available for sale and that customer needs are met.

Job Objectives
  • To follow up orders with suppliers to ensure that the delivery dates are confirmed and adhered to by suppliers.
  • To compile daily and weekly lists of outstanding orders and their delivery dates to ensure that purchase orders are delivered on the nominated delivery dates.
  • To maintain relationships with suppliers, buyers and warehouse staff with regards to stock deliveries.
  • To answer and resolve product and pricing disputes as well as redundancy issues.
  • To follow up on inter branch stock transfers.
  • To deal with suppliers around aged stock, expired, short dated and overstocks, ensuring such are taken back.
  • To actively engage with operations and other departments to resolve supply issues quickly and efficiently.
  • To ensure that new products are ordered timeously on SAP.
  • To update and maintain product prices.
  • To ensure that master data is maintained in line with UPD master data policy.
Minimum Requirements

Experience and Education:
  • Grade 12 or NQF Equivalent
  • 2 3 years buying administration experience
  • 2 3 years pharmaceutical industry exposure
  • Exposure to a high volume FMCG / Wholesale environment
