The Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), reporting to the Purchasing Manager is responsible for the monitoring and evaluating supplier quality and performance within the plant/s under his/her responsibility. Leading a small team of Quality Technicians, the SQE is responsible for driving the performance of the suppliers for which they are responsible in terms of the business's strategic objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Suitably Qualified
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering or similar technical qualification
- 3 + years experience in technical or similar role in an automotive manufacturing or quality environment
- Preference to previous experience in ISO 9001, 16949 and VDA6.3
- Solid skills in MS Excel
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Understand, communicate and ensure customer specific requirements are met throughout the supply-chain.
- Maintaining and updating supplier performance monitoring systems and audit schedules.
- Conducting 2nd party supplier audits to drive process control and stability, waste elimination, continuous improvement and meet customer requirements.
- Supporting and developing suppliers in line with the business's strategic objectives throughout the supply chain
- Managing all quality supply issues in the plant under his/her responsibility including quality problem solving and
- root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
- Managing and reporting on supplier quality performance through corrective action activities to resolve open performance
- Supporting manufacturing to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
- Leading the Quality Technician team within the plant under his/her responsibility.
- Perform all other reasonable tasks
