The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metals Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF.
BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4, 000 employees.
What You Can Expect
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall leadership of the Supply Chain function. Duties will include the following:
- Ensuring safe operations within the supply chain function
- Maintaining and developing systems and procedures to ensure an efficient and cost effective supply chain
- Ensuring customer demands and forecasts are effectively translated into stable production schedules and forecasts
- Optimizing the supply chain through continuous liaison with suppliers, service providers and customers
- Ensuring effective communication between BASF, suppliers and customers regarding demand management
- Liaising between global key account managers and the global supply chain team to manage demand, forecasts, logistics and inventory issues, including assisting with account reconciliations and obsolescence claims
- Where required, supporting direct negotiations/interactions with local canners and OEMs on financial and commercial topics
- Supporting effective new product introductions through effective planning and SAP master data setup
- Maintaining an adequate supplier rating system and participating in Supplier development initiatives
- Maintaining a proper customer satisfaction rating system and developing corrective actions to address shortcomings
- Initiating and coordinating continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reductions and customer satisfaction
- Ensuring the conditions regarding all BASF and International Trade Control regulations are adhered to
- Developing and maintaining effective KPIs to manage the Supply Chain function
- Continuously striving for enhanced business processes and systems development
- Ensuring that all Supply Chain and Logistics employees are trained and developed in accordance with company needs
- Ensuring that all Responsible care requirements are complied to by the department and act as the responsible person for the TDS (Transport and Distribution Safety) and Product Stewardship codes
- B. Comm/ B.Tech/ NDip/ BSc in Commercial, Engineering, Logistics or Finance fields
- Minimum 8 years manufacturing experience in Logistics and Purchasing, and 5 years should be in a supervisory capacity
- Minimum 3 years experience in MRP and Production scheduling (Must be detailed and proven experience)
- Experience in a multinational production environment (Preferably in the Automotive industry)
