Overall Purpose of the Role
Use APSYS principles to manage and drive defined KPIs based on Safety, Quality, Delivery and cost. Capacity /workload management People and competency management, Productivity and continuous improvement and tools management. Lead cross functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage autonomous teams around SQDC objectives; by using visual management, participates to daily meetings of the autonomous teams, communicate objectives and information needed for their achievement, solve problems, request assistance from support functions, and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure that defined EHS policy and standards are adhered to and improve EHS performance.
- Manage the department KPIs in line with safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Drive autonomous teams work in order to comply with daily production planning.
- Define and implement corrective actions to address SQDC performance deviations.
- Train and develop people within the team.
- Drive the continuous improvement of results; communicate objectives, involve teams, implement actions, pull and implement improvement ideas, and problem solving groups (PDCA methodology), track improvement (visual management) and communicate results.
- Maintain equipment standards through TPM schedules.
- Grade 12
- Minimum Red Seal Artisan in the relevant trade.
- Minimum of 3 years Product knowledge experience.
- Must be able lead and motivate a group of approx. 20 people towards achieving a set of predefined targets
- Must have a knowledge with labour-relations policies and procedures in the South African labour context
- Must be able to communicate effectively at different levels within the organisation
- Must display high levels of integrity, ethics and morals standards.
- Must be extremely disciplined with time management
- Must have a high regard for customer/ supplier relationships
- Must be knowledgeable of best practice principles
- Must be flexible to work outside of normal operational boundaries to support team targets
