Job Description
You will be responsible for:
Performance of surveillance system
Maintain hardware and software of surveillance systems
- Identify and analyse poor performance of surveillance system
- Performing general repair work i.e. building maintenance
- Maintaining and installing access control systems
- Repair and replace surveillance equipment
- Ensure high availability of surveillance equipment
- Ensure security standards are adhered to
- Benchmarking of other surveillance systems
- Investigate new surveillance technology
- Upgrading of existing surveillance equipment and software
- Optimise current surveillance systems
- Educate users on how to use the system
- Resolve customer queries
- Communicate with users (i.e. system updates)
- Listen to customer complaints
Control Inventory
- Perform equipment audits
- Keep a stock equipment register
- Follow-up on installations
- Performing quality assurance checks on external services/work done by contractors
- Perform general administration and record keeping duties
- Compile required reports to standard
- Share information with relevant stakeholders
Qualifications
You must have:
- Grade 12
- 2 years Diploma in Electronic Security Systems and or electronics or equivalent (RPL can be applied to recognize skills obtained through short courses and experience)
- Registered with the PSIRA on Grade B level
- Valid drivers license
- Minimum 3 years experience in electronic security environment
- Communications in English (spoken, written and reading)
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
- First Aid training (advantageous)
- Understanding of relevant security equipment
- Understanding of electronic security equipment standards and conventions
- Psychometric Assessment
- Criminal screening will be administered
- Pass polygraph test
