Role Summary:

Joining PwC's Sustainability team in SATIC presents an exciting opportunity to shape a meaningful career, contributing positively to some of the most pressing global challenges. Through speed, collaboration, and imaginative thinking were helping our clients to build trust in the climate transition by:
  • enhancing credibility of non-financial sustainability and climate reporting,

  • driving sustainability transformation programmes to ensure the transition to Net Zero is fair.
We are also ensuring our own business is ready to meet the challenge ahead. As part of The New Equation, PwC is committing $12bn globally over the next 5 years, creating over 100, 000 new jobs, with a specific emphasis on strengthening our Sustainability capabilities.

This role primarily focuses on Sustainability Reporting, providing an opportunity to work virtually with the PwC UK practice, to deliver a broad spectrum of sustainability reporting services to UK-based clients as well as clients around the world.

The next 24 months will be a critical phase for Sustainability reporting, given the numerous new and emerging Sustainability regulations expected to be applicable from 2024 onwards. As our Sustainability Reporting team expands, we are actively seeking talented professionals with a background in Sustainability Reporting or non-financial control frameworks, to play a leading role in delivering complex engagements to senior client stakeholders.

We want to help our clients to tackle their Sustainability reporting challenges and to create value not only for today, but for the future.

Qualifications /Certifications required:

We will consider a range of university degrees and professional qualifications in a relevant subject matter area. However, on top of this, candidates will be expected to demonstrate experience in client delivery across one or a number of sustainability reporting requirements.

Experience required:
  • Experience aligned with the outlined activities

  • Understanding of the sustainability regulatory and reporting environment as well as the links and connectivity between financial and non-financial information.

  • Staying up-to-date with emerging regulations and standards (e.g., TCFD, TNFD, CRSD, ESRS, ISSB, SFDR, Taxonomy Regulations, SEC Climate Rule, PRA SS3/19, GRI, SASB, WEF IBC, UN Principles for Responsible Investment)

  • Knowledge of value drivers within Sustainability

  • Project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple engagements effectively

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in managing and coaching teams

  • Clear and effective communication skills

  • Ability to build key stakeholder relationships, both internally and with clients
Responsibilities of role:

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the project team in various Sustainability reporting activities, including:
  • Current state Sustainability reporting assessments

  • Regulatory impact assessments and gap analysis

  • Sustainability reporting landscape reviews and horizon scanning

  • Sustainability materiality assessments

  • Sustainability reporting maturity assessments

  • Sustainability reporting implementation design

  • Sustainability reporting assurance readiness assessments

  • Manage client-facing and internal engagements, overseeing progress and budgets
Serve as a subject matter expert on projects, specific topics, or reporting frameworks

Stay updated on the latest reporting developments through continuous research

Manage day-to-day relationships with key client and internal stakeholders

Identify new client opportunities and contribute to the development of sales and marketing materials, including proposals and thought leadership

Contribute to the further development of our Sustainability Reporting proposition and approach, including digital assets

People Responsibilities:
  • Develop junior team members through effective coaching, supervision, and training

  • Practise upward management and communication

  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment
Desirable skill sets include:
  • Experience managing or delivering sustainability reporting within/for a company

  • Assurance experience, including evaluating controls over financial and operational (non-financial) processes.
Industry experience required:

We work across all industries - public sector, private sector and financial services clients, so value experience in one or more of these industries.
