Role Headline
System Engineers (Automation) are responsible for the design, development, and implementation of customer projects, according to defined Siemens standards and customer requirements. The scope of System Engineer includes panel design, testing of various equipment, RTU and HMI programming, site installation and commissioning.
Responsibilities Of The Role
- Implementing projects within time, cost and quality parameters.
- Substation Protection and Automation scheme design interpreting and translating customer requirements into a complete system as well as applying innovative approaches i.t.o products, technology and people
- Testing of automation schemes be responsible to generate, testing documentation and perform testing at factory and commissioning onsite as required during project execution.
- Providing customer support the automation system engineer is required to perform post-fault investigations as required by the customer.
- Proactively identify, review, and manage project technical risks and ensures that appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
- Support Business development by Identifying Business opportunities and Market Potential in the Utility, Infrastructure, Industry and other market verticals.
- BSc or BTech in Electrical engineering
- 4 to 6 Years of relevant experience in substation automation.
- Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of power system automation.
- Registered as Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist with ECSA (Advantageous)
- Experience in software, integration and automation, [MM(ZSESE1] communication protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104), Ethernet systems, protocol analysers, and industry SCADA practices.
- Experience in Siemens SICAM PAS software, Siemens SICAM RTUs configuration (Advantageous)
- Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and generation systems (Advantageous)
- Experience in protection system (Advantageous)
- Independent working style, highly flexible for global travel and going the extra mile
- Excellent communication & professional networking skills
- Strong intercultural sensitivity and ability to work with teams and stakeholders around the globe
- Highly desirable professional experience outside of home country[MM(ZSESE2]
- Fluent in English
- Valid Drivers license
- ID/Passport
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability and willingness to challenge status quo
- Willingness to get directly involved with operational matters
- Strong communication skills; must be able to interact with all levels of the organization in both local and international organizations
- Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges in changing environment
