Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of Tactical Team Assistant within the Merchandising, Field Sales Department based in Gauteng. This role will be reporting into the Regional Manager.
Key Responsibilities
To ensure the timeous delivery and erection of displays according to the route plan and standards set by the Vendor.
Furthermore, the team often consists of a driver and an assistant and both are equally responsible to support the merchandiser and/or sales representative in the execution of their duties.
Role
Critical to this role is collecting the proof of the displays through taking pictures and submitting it to the relevant manager:
- Execute the tactical team function cost effectively.
- Contribute to the cost savings targets of the company.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers to deliver on service excel-lence targets.
- Assist merchandiser to set up displays and ensure maximum utilisation of shelf space.
- Assist to resolve in-store disputes with customers about displays and exhi-bitions.
- Unpack the stock related to promotional events and displays.
- Conduct an inspection at point of sale to ensure compliance to prescribed standards.
- Take pictures of displays and utilisation of shelf space as proof to Vendor of meeting requirements and standards.
- Accurate record keeping of travel mileage and petrol slips.
- Timeous submission of claims for processing.
- Escalate queries and concerns to relevant management level.
- Conduct planning of deliveries to point of sale to ensure meeting deadlines during high peak times.
- Unpack the display units and assemble according to standards.
- Accurately record activities on a daily basis to ensure Diplomat meet expectations set by the Vendor.
- Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities.
- Completed Matric or equivalent, accredited by SAQA OR equivalent work experience.
- A relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the Merchandising environment, preferably from the FMCG industry.
- A clear understanding and working knowledge of the predetermined Formal Accounts Channel and Independent Retail & Wholesale FMCG environment is required.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must successfully complete On-Cab assessment.
- A valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- The ability to work under pressure and overtime when required.
- Must be based in Soweto.
