My name is leandra ziyambi and I am 19 years old . I am a Zimbabwean by nationality but I have been staying here in south Africa since 2012. I completed my matric last year with good results . I had applied for the university of Johannesburg and wits for teaching and/or geology and was admitted in both universities but they required a study permit . I then went to Zimbabwe to apply for a study permit but got rejected due to insufficient funds they said that I do not have a bursary to fund my studies hence they can not hand me the permit . So I have been looking for a bursary ever since . The purpose of this letter is to express my difficult experiences I have encountered and subsequently apply for a job as a teacher assistant at one of your institutions in your district . I am very passionate when it comes to teaching . In the year 2019 I started helping other learners in my school with mathematics and I proceeded helping until grade 12 . I have better communication skills and I can explain things clearer . I am Patient and easy to talk to which makes it easier for learners to ask me questions where they do not understand . I have developed a flexible mind over the years , by that I refer to seeing situations in different perspectives or in other people’s eyes this allows me to detect the main problem that a learner experiences and I come up with a solution. I create scenarios to explain things that are considered difficult by learners to make it easier for the brain to grasp . Other than scenarios I also developed strategies and techniques to help learners to understand a subject. I believe in building a stronger foundation for better results and with that being said I would like to teach grade eights and nines so that they grow with better understanding to how things actually work and how things are done. I can also help the grade 12 since they are already at the finishing line . I experienced a lot of difficulties in my upbringing but I never gave up I am still pushing , working towards my dreams and by the same token I would like to serve as an encouragement to those who also have challenges in their lives . I am fully aware of all the formalities and qualifications that I have to go through in order to qualify for this position but unfortunately I do not have access to them due to insufficient funds . If only I can get this opportunity , I will become an asset not only to your schools but to the rest of South Africa. It’s the little changes that makes the biggest impact. I promise to abide by my words and do my absolute best to change your results for the better .

It is a job of being a school-based educator (a teacher) for physical sciences and mathematics at further education and training phase (grade 10 to 12). As a retired teacher at KZN Department of education, a former demonstrator and tutor for physics at the Centre for Science Access (CSA) now Centre for Academic Success in Science and Engineering (CASSE) at UKZN, I am extremely familiar and experienced with this job. I had an opportunity to practice my profession for 11 years at school level under the KZN department of education and 2 years at university through CSA/CASSE. I shall help my learners to access, engage and understand, hence develop science content knowledge. This will be done through preparing high quality lessons that will motivate learners to achieve at their maximum potential. I shall use an annual teaching plan (ATP) that may be provided by the department of education or a private school for pace setting so as to uncover all of the required work per school calendar term. I shall supplement our coursework from the classroom by organizing content videos and organizing field trips. In each school calendar term, I shall assess my science learners both formally and informally in order to determine their progress in learning. I shall keep a performance list by the learners so as to monitor their continuous development in academic learning and then change my teaching methods if needs be. I will attend content and pedagogy workshops organized by the department or the school to develop my pedagogy-content knowledge (pck)
