The main purpose of this role is to manage designated teams within the Distribution Centre environment in a culture of accelerated performance ensuring that it excels in compliance and contributing towards the achievement of KPI’s.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control, Maintain and ensure accuracy of master data by managing the workflow of new and existing materials as well as ascertaining that the data related to pick – face, bin and materials are updated as and when required.
- Assisting in discontinuation of materials and ensuring efficient use of warehouse capacity.
- Ensure routing of NDD’s are aligned with Customer Service.
- Actively participate in all warehouse related matters of the Customer Facing Supply Chain to ensure cross functional alignment through regular and Pro-active communication with customers, customer service and other key stakeholders updated and collaboration with customers, customer service and other key stakeholders on elements that will have an impact on Freshness and Bad Goods.
- Maintain budget and control variances by organising daily cycle counting and analyse daily/weekly variances to institute corrective action where they are stock variances, managing IRA, stock losses and bad goods and provide monthly dashboard information, preparing and supplying analysis of DC related top 10 Bad Goods, manage staff to obtain productivity targets, manage warehouse accuracy in terms of picking, management of staff resources, management of Reach Trucks and Power pallet trucks (PPT), management of Kronos hours, annual leave, absenteeism, updating KPI’s/DOR/WOR boards and presenting/responding to questions related to information on the boards, managing inbound/outbound transport vehicles in terms of turnaround times and managing outsourced transport service providers/agents in terms of POD‘s, outstanding shipments, on time deliveries etcetera
- Manage Inventory Control by ensuring that shipments are completed on time for pre – loading, running daily blocked stock report and investigating reasons therof, managing printing and reprinting of SSCC labels and ensuring that best practices are complied with, running daily blocked stock, investigate the reasons for blocking of stock, and manage unit-to-unit transactions.
- Manage Safety and Health by ensuring that safety regulations and legislation are adhered to, investigating and reporting all accidents, ensuring compliance to driven machinery requirements and ensuring implementation and compliance with quality control systems and procedures
- Manage talent and succession plans by conducting IDP’s, PE/PDG and driving performance management, maintaining discipline and taking corrective action where necessary and select, retain, develop and lead the right people
- Assist LEAN Value Stream Design by embracing and implementing a structured approach towards all the elements of NCE thereby ensuring that a continuous improvement culture is developed and sustained
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years supervisory experience in a Distribution/Warehouse environment
- Leadership and people management experience
- Minimum required qualification is NQF 6/ Production Diploma or equivalent and relevant operational experience at market/business level in the following areas is beneficial:
- Formal Knowledge of distribution end to end process
- Stock control, SHE, Quality
- SAP and advance Excel experience
- Employee Relations experience
