Assembly workshop technical assistant is needed in Montague Gardens, Cape Town who should be able to assist the Senior Technicians to assemble, install and maintain parking, access control, CCTV products and other security equipment.
Job responsibilities:
- Assemble, Install, modify and repair parking and access control equipment (parking barriers, CCTV equipment, other electrical systems, etc.) as instructed by the technician.
- Run new cables, assemble loops, glue, drill holes, mount detectors, panels, contacts, cameras, etc.
- Can work late and/ or on weekends when necessary.
- Complete tasks neatly, and accurately doing it the first time right and with due care and respect of client’s property.
Job requirements:
- Friendly, follow instruction well and can work on their own to get things done.
- Proactive problem solver does not need to be continuously told what to do.
- Trustworthy and reliable - always on time, completing tasks on time.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- High level of customer service.
- Desire to grow and develop skills.
- 2-3 years manufacturing, technical electrical or electronic experience, i.e. working in manufacturing, assembling electronic products, assembling and installing alarm systems, access control and CCTV.
- TIG welding skills.
- Experience working with electrical and hand tools and wiring.
- Driver’s license.
- PDP drivers licence an advantage.
- Some experience with and skills in installing CCTV surveillance systems, intercom systems and working on construction sites.
- MIG welding skills (advantage).
- Available to start as soon as possible.
