The Role
We are looking for a Technical Editor to format, update, and maintain high-quality, user-friendly Markdown documentation for technical and non-technical users.
This role is within the Technical Communications team, and your primary function will be to create and edit merge requests; format Git-flavored Markdown documentation; create, edit, and update technical diagrams; improve and maintain the performance of the existing information architecture; and perform rebases where necessary.
Your secondary function will be to research and write industry- and product-specific content that complements Entersekt's various Knowledge Centers.
Entersekt works in an Agile environment. Therefore, applicants must be comfortable working quickly, alongside different stakeholder personalities, and to deadline.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and format documentation (such as administration guides, API reference material, and SDK documentation) in Git-flavored Markdown for publication to Entersekt's various Knowledge Centers.
- Create, update, and maintain technical diagrams.
- Maintain and continuously improve our documentation portals, including layout, design, user experience, imagery, and build processes.
- Contribute to the improvement of team processes and style guides.
- Analyze developments in our software to determine the need for new or updated documentation.
- Liaise with SMEs, teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that merge requests receive both technical and editorial approval before publication.
- Research and develop industry-specific content that complements Entersekt's user and product documentation.
- Participate in team check-ins, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
Successful candidates for this role will generally possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Proficient in Git-flavored Markdown, HTML, CSS, and JS.
- One to two years' experience using Git.
- One to two years' experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience using Visual Studio Code or similar.
- Experience in a technical role (such as support, implementation, or training) is beneficial.
- Experience in Financial Services and/or Fintech is beneficial.
- Methodical with strong attention to detail.
- Passionate about clear and concise user documentation.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent technical communicator with solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic self-starter able to execute projects from planning to publication.
- A perfectionist with an eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse array of people.
