TECHNICAL MANAGER

Our client based in Durban, KZN, SA, provides comprehensive project management services tailored to oversee all aspects of your residential or commercial construction projects.

From the initial planning stage to the final completion, the skilled team ensures the timely and budget-friendly delivery of all technical aspects of your projects.

Services include managing risks, dealing with stakeholders, handling procurement, and overseeing on-site activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient execution of your most challenging projects. Reporting to : Board of Directors

Accountability

The Head of the Technical Department and is accountable for managing the Design Team and the development, implementation and maintenance of technological company systems and processes, including troubleshooting any potential issues for modular buildings / alternative building construction

Role: Technical Manager

Location: Durban SA

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Construction or Engineering.
  • Inventor & AutoCAD
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, SharePoint & PowerApps,
  • Wrike ( training will be provided )
  • Vehicle licence required.
  • Valid Passport.
Skill Set
  • Batchelors Degree in Engineering / Science of Construction
  • Proficient in AutoCAD & Inventor.
  • Experience in developing Bill of Materials
  • Experience in the Construction, or Modular Building Industry would be advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Good IT skills
  • Initiative and good decision-making skills
  • Strong organisational skills
Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Improve, compile, facilitate and review all departmental procedures and policies relating to Quality and Health & Safety.
  • Ensure all employees are adhering to the Health and Safety requirements for the department and organisation.
  • Allocate and manage output of workload for design team ensuring the turnaround times for organisation are met using WRIKE
  • Mentor Design Team and foster a collaboration work environment
  • Lead design team meetings, ensuring cohesive and cost-effective project designs
  • Review and maintain all technical standards, project spec sheets and installation documents for the organisation.
  • Lead on research and development of new technology in alternate construction and best practices within the industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the SANS 10400 Building Regulation and Alternative Building Construction.
  • Lead for all internal and external technical enquiries, including reviewing of technical specifications received from Customers.
  • Lead for all project designs and approval of submission of drawings to Clients, ensuring accurate records are kept of revision of drawings.
  • Obtain client design approval and manage design changes during production on and construction on site.
  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for all Projects
  • Reviewing specifications and prices with Suppliers regarding materials and designs associated to Bill of Materials
  • Compiling Packing Lists for shipping of materials
