The Technical Sales Consultant is responsible for building long-term relationships with customers, work closely with customers, and acting as an all-round business consultant to identify how Arjo can assist in improving the effectiveness and quality of products through preventative maintenance and care.
As the Technical Sales Consultant you will be responsible for:
- Achieving sales targets
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing customers
- Build relationships with customers to develop new business by analyzing their needs
- Reporting on activities, planners, forecasts, competitors info, install base and database maintenance
- Frequent assessments & equipment validation in hospital wards and other medical facilities
- Liase closely with customers and manage expectations on services pending
- Qualify business potential customers and execute plans efficiently
- In-service training and product education on all products sold
- Providing customers with solutions to extend the life span of their equipment
- Promote extended warranties, Service level agreements and planned preventative maintenance plans
- Maintain good track records on existing service level agreements and extended warranties
- Provide market activity updates and business growth opportunities
- Create new business ideas and strategies
- Represent Arjo at trade exhibitions, symposiums, events and demonstrations
- Liaise with operations department to check on the progress of existing orders
- Liaise with customer services on all quotes and orders pending
- Build strong relationships with technicians
- Communicate effectively with the technicians to manage execution tasks
- Keep a strong follow up on all open quotes
- Keep up to date with Arjo product knowledge
- Track sales and order process management
- Validate assessment reports and quotes
- Submit weekly planners and update daily reports on tasks completed with relevant outcome and/or actions needed
- Forecasting/pipeline management
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Sales and technical tertiary qualification would be preferred
- At least 3-5 years work experience in a similar role, with proven sales track record.
- A good understanding of Government and private hospital relations is essential
- Customer Service Orientated and focused
- Valid drivers license and reliable own vehicle
- Ability to work independently
- Available to work outside of normal office hours, as per customer requirements
- Adhoc travel and visits to regional provinces.
