Our core business is Mobile Racking Systems. We therefore need a technician/electrician, who is competent to install and maintain mobile racking systems in warehouses.
Job responsibilities:
- Liaise with clients, in order to maintain and improve service levels
- Perform site inspections independently and report findings
- Do repairs and maintenance of new and existing systems
- Manage new installations
- Respond to breakdowns
- Market and sell the concept of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and other company products to existing clients
- Train assistants as well as supervise assistants, as and when necessary
- Travel outside of Cape Town on short notice
Job requirements:
- The ideal candidate must have the capacity to handle both the electrical, as well as the mechanical aspects of these installations.
- Have recognisable technical qualifications - RED SEAL Electrician
- Minimum 5 years working experience as a RED SEAL Electrician
- PLC experience advantageous
- Be experienced in fault finding – must be able to work unsupervised
- Problem solving ability
- Must be physically and medically fit and able, to work in the cold at -20° Celsius, for varying lengths of time
- Have the ability to work at heights
- Be able to read drawings (experience in reading electrical drawings is advantageous)
- Be prepared to work weekends, if and when required
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Be disciplined and pay attention to detail – following procedures is of utmost importance
- Ability to perform administrative duties, such as the completion of breakdown and planned work in accordance with a technical job card system, writing reports following inspections, drawing up quotes, etc.
- Be able to complete project work, in accordance with project schedules
- Have the ability to work with a diverse cultural mix of people
- Valid Code EC or EC1 driver’s licence
- Valid and updated passport
- Clear criminal record
- Must be trustworthy, honest, reliable, self-assured
- Sober habits
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Clear, effective and efficient communication skills
- Team-player
- A can-do attitude
