Position overview
The Technology Adviser within the VS (Exploration and Mining Value) is responsible for the operational design/needs analysis of our customers for the provision of the acQuire Geoscientific Information Management (GIM) solution including implementation, technical support and the delivery of training sessions associated with the use of the GIM Suite.
Desired qualifications and experience
- Degree / qualification/s in geoscientific or IT, or equivalent relevant education, training or professional experience
- Substantial experience (3+ years) in either the geoscience or the information technology domain in the Natural Resources sector.
- Knowledge of relational databases and/or structured query language (SQL) would be preferable
- An understanding of SQL Server RDBMS
- Significant IT skills to construct well developed acQuire GIM Suite tools and SQL Objects, which in turn is important with data porting techniques
- Ability to deliver training and technical presentations.
- Keen interest in the acQuire technologies.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff
- Highly motivated and an energetic team player
- Strong business acumen
- Proven ability to use initiative in the work area and apply new concepts
- Flexibility and adaptability to variations in working hours, work conditions and travel schedules to meet business needs
