Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst - Remote to join the team on a Temporary contract
- Developing business requirements and used case specifications
- Data analysis required to inform the extraction of data from source (OLTP) systems, and the transformation of this data to conform with defined rules in readiness to load into the warehouse
- Translating complex business scenarios into User Stories/Business Requirements Specifications &, Data Analysis Presentations.
- Obtaining/soliciting & translating BI and Analytics Business & Data Requirements from senior executives and from operational scorecards, reports and the gathering of requirements from a broad base of Subject Matter Experts
- Compiling and translating information into presentations for a wide variety of audiences
- Facilitating workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements which can be converted into meaningful BI & Analytics requirements, which inform the development of the new Data Warehouse & related Data marts, Analytics & related Metrics(KPIs)
- Engaging with and supporting the full end-to-end data development process: including business requirements analysis, source data analysis, target data model requirements, definition of business and data rules, supporting data mapping for the ETL process, reporting on data anomalies and seeking business resolution and remediation, defining and communicating requirements, rules, anomalies and remediation action
- Defining and testing BI and analytics requirements, including test case definition, etc
- Working with Data Warehouse constructs and concepts
- Analyse system requirements
- Grade 12
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems
- Minimum 5 years of experience including Data Analytics, Data warehousing & MDM including other Data Management disciplines will be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years commercial Business Analysis experience.
- Minimum 5 years Data Analysis experience
- Strong hands-on SQL experience for the purposes of interrogating data
- Advanced MS Excel
- Experience with BI reporting tools such as static reporting, analytics, and visualisation tools
- Experience gained in the manufacturing industry is a plus
- Experience with testing and data quality assurance processes
- Possesses good understanding in the areas of database and data warehouse design.
- Efficient database design and experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies: Analysis Services, T-SQL, Integration Services and Reporting Services.
- Experience with maintainable, extensible, high performance data warehouse application architectures.
- Data mining capabilities
