The Country Analysis division of EIU is looking for a Research Senior Subeditor on a 12 month contract. Successful applicants will be responsible for the production and quality of EIU products. Among the key tasks involved in the role, the Senior Subeditor will work on monthly and quarterly reports and daily analysis for all countries, industries and commodities that EIU covers.

Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the smooth running of a team of 13 subeditors distributed across regions, and a large portfolio
- Ensuring a steady workflow across all products, and that each regional desk is adequately covered at peak times and is able to meet all its deadlines
- Liaising with various senior stakeholders to resolve workflow issues
- Subediting all content for the Global Forecasting team, including all North American content and all Commodities content, according to the corresponding deadlines
- Sourcing and managing contributors for occasional white papers as well as larger annual projects
- Responding to ad hoc requests and enquiries from various colleagues across different teams
- Knowing when to delegate tasks, and to whom
- Approving leave requests and securing additional cover when needed
- Highly articulate, and proficient in English and at least one other language
- Minimum 5 yrs experience subediting to a high standard in a fast-paced environment
- Multi-tasking and juggling several conflicting demands according to tight deadlines
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented and deadline-driven, providing support as needed during crunch times
- An ability to think on their feet and find solutions to problems
- A heightened sense of curiosity to question and analyse ambiguous or dubious content
