CDC INVENTORY MANAGER

Purpose of the Job

Lead the Receiving and Inventory (Inbound) departments to enhance customer service by improving stock accuracy across all business units. Align these operations with the strategic vision of the Company.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications:
  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • Degree or Tertiary Diploma in Warehousing and Logistics.
Experience
  • At least 8 years of Stock Management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Management role.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Inbound Logistics.
Receiving

Major Responsibilities and Key Results Areas
  • Reduce turnaround time for supplier vehicles and improve weekly scheduling.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding quality-related issues.
  • Suggest and implement improvements in the receiving process.
  • Ensure accurate capturing of received stock on SAP.
  • Maintain stock quality at the point of receiving; flag non-compliance.
Stock Management
  • Manage stock to improve accuracy.
  • Initiate daily perpetual counts.
  • Lead and manage monthly counts.
  • Investigate and close out findings, reporting on variances daily.
  • Authorize stock adjustments.
  • Initiate the SAV process and ensure immediate SAV and labeling.
  • Improve the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) process for stock rotation.
  • Lead efforts to improve batch refills.
  • Serve as WMS custodian.
  • Reduce out-of-stock scenarios and mitigate stock risk.
  • Audit current processes, suggest improvements, and implement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the CDC OTIF (On Time In Full) percentage.
People Management
  • Mentor and train subordinates.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team and management.
  • Manage the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
Financial Management
  • Report daily, weekly, and monthly on stock variances and adjustments.
  • Reduce stock write-offs.
  • Ensure all MIGO transactions related to daily receiving are completed.
  • Oversee the APDP process and ensure compliance.
Customer Service
  • Enhance customer service by maintaining high stock accuracy across all business units.
  • Collaborate with and provide support to internal customers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal SLA by the Distribution team.
Continuous Improvement
  • Initiate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stock management and accuracy.
  • Improve receiving and inventory processes.
