The PSP is a well-established, award-winning non-profit organisation that improves the quality of teaching and learning in disadvantaged primary schools through training and supporting teachers in Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Language, Social Sciences and Environmental education. It has been operating since 1984. Its office is located at the Edith Stephens Wetland Park, Govan Mbeki Road, Philippi. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for development and with a proven track record in fundraising and advancement and strong knowledge of the non-profit sector, preferably in the field of education. This person should:· Have a minimum of three years’ experience in successful fundraising and advancement;· Be innovative and creative in establishing and maintaining relationships with donor partners;· Have an understanding of the local and international fundraising landscape including corporate sponsorship; · Have excellent oral and writing ability and administration (including database management);· Be highly organised and motivated; · Have experience with updating websites in WordPress;· Have experience with social media. This person will work closely with the Director and the Office Manager to:· Be active in prospecting for potential donors from South Africa and elsewhere;· Develop and present funding proposals and reports;· Develop strategies to build the PSP’s financial reserves. This is a full-time contract post, based in Cape Town.
