Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Disciplinary Hearings:
- Chair disciplinary hearings in compliance with the codes of good practice, ensuring a fair and unbiased process.
- Thoroughly review all evidence presented during the hearing, ensuring adequate time for consideration before making a recommendation to the CEO.
- Deliver a verdict of guilty or not guilty based on the evidence, followed by a comprehensive report detailing the findings for PASA.
- Suggest appropriate sanctions, if applicable, in accordance with the disciplinary code of PASA, providing justifiable reasons for the decision.
- The deliverables would be aligned with the scope of work.
- Hold an LLB degree.
- Have extensive experience in dispute resolution and disciplinary processes.
- Demonstrate the ability to remain impartial and fair.
- Exhibit proficiency in assessing evidence and differentiating between facts, opinions, and hearsay.
- Justify their findings and recommendations clearly and logically.
- When a Chairperson is appointed, it should be a senior counsel specialising in labour law.
