The Risk Control Officer's main duties will include maintaining, advising and auditing the Risk, Safety and Environment programs as implemented and managed by the Unit.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conducting Risk, Health and Safety, and Environmental program evaluations and audits at the Unit.
- Manage and Maintain the ISO 14001 system.
- Achieving external audit target scores.
- Ensuring the respective statutory appointments is in place.
- Follow-up action plans, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Environmental Evaluations, advising and audits conducted with approved consultant at Manufacturing Units.
- Interfacing with Insurers on Insurance aspects.
- Monitoring, reporting and trend evaluation of Organisational DIFR System for the Unit (monthly).
- Organising/directing of HAZLOC Studies from time to time at the Unit.
- Ensuring all the required GMR2 appointments at the Unit are in place.
- Preparation of annual Risk budget and management of same.
- Management of personnel PPE and procurement of same.
Knowledge and experience:
- Relevant secondary qualification, backed up by sound working experience and exposure to various manufacturing initiatives.
- Matriculation Certificate
- SAMTRAC qualification
- 5 years Risk management experience
Suitably qualified and related experience with Risk and Loss Control functionality, and is able to work independently with following attributes:
- Sound knowledge of the OSHACT and Regulations pertaining to the industry.
- Sound knowledge of RSR regulations.
- Analytical and good attention to detail.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to work with senior manufacturing managers.
- Ability to work in a management team.
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
- Ability to take responsibility in the event of an accident.
- High levels of personal discipline.
- Ability to work in a corporate environment.
