Reporting to: Spare Parts Co-ordinator
Purpose: To provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers through procuring the correct spare, quality, and quantity timeously at the best price. Ensuring that the bulk of spare parts are procured through the company network to maximize profitability due to the savings of bulk purchases made by the Head Office manufacturing facility. Reporting, forecasting, communication, planning, and pro-activeness are key to this role. The gathering of information, analyzing and making informed decisions are critical to this position.
The successful candidate must be able to perform the following key tasks:
Service internal and external customer requisitions.
Provide feedback with regards to spare part availability or ETA (estimated time of arrival into warehouse)
Understand the makeup and what is required from the Spare Parts planning file; proactively place requisitions and orders to coincide with the required demand meeting the timeline of when the spares are required.
Production orders: Ensuring all internal and external customers expectations are met even if requisitions or orders are not complete due to unforeseen circumstances, however some quantities are still provided to ensure that their businesses can continue allocation of spares vs customer orders)
Collaborate with Head Office manufacturing and procurement to ensure lead times are met for manufactured or imported spare parts.
Collaborate with finance ensuring invoicing, EFT or cash transactions are finalised before goods are released.
Collaborate with Head Office technical if retro fit part is available if required part is unavailable.
The position will be the backup for the SP Planner if he or she is unavailable.
Consolidation of internal customer needs of spare parts i.e. using the planning file
