To provide advice and support in managing the treasury investment portfolios across the ARO entities required based on current and projected economic environment and regulations.
Job Description
Investment portfolio benchmark performance mandate:
- Review, refine and implement an appropriate benchmark performance mandate for each country across ARO.
- Ensure entity ALCO approval of methodology and monitoring of performance to benchmark portfolios.
- Consider adjustments required based on current and projected economic environment and regulations.
- Advise Investment Management Committee of performance to benchmark mandates, performance to plan as well as potential performance and risk management enhancements.
- Report to Group Non-Traded Market Risk (GNTMR) on portfolio performance; risk sensitivities; alignment to risk limits.
- Maintain and report on the investment asset profiles (tenor; rates; ccy); consider interest rate cycles and advise Investment Committee on revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Simulate stress events and advise on impact on entity and Group losses and SARB RWA impacts. Consider and evaluate timing of switching to HTC portfolios.
On a monthly basis report NII impacts; variance to STP/ MTP and explain variances to plan. Support entities with Outlooks and RAFs to ensure overall Treasury P&L plans are delivered.
Capital efficiency management:
Monitor and report on SARB RWA impacts on investment holdings. Support entities diversify sovereign risks and align to Group risk limits for SARB RWAs. Support entities plan and interlock with Group capital management on capital demands, including return on capital is adequate to support use of Group capital.
Interest rate risk management:
Together with the IRR management team, assess the impact of and consider enhancements to the interest rate risk hedge provided by the investment portfolio.
