Your role as Construction Surveyor would be to set out work for construction by interpreting drawings and through line and level control ensuring correct survey information is provided to construction teams. Once work is completed, it is measured for payment purposes and submitted to the Engineer as as-built data.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related qualification.
- At least 3 years experience in Civil Construction Survey i.e., roadworks, earthworks, pipelaying and township developments.
- The ability to work independently.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to train junior staff.
- A valid driving license.
- Set out accurately from construction drawings and benchmarks sufficient information to provide construction teams with daily targets. measurement of excavations, dumps, stacks, and stockpiles.
- Survey and measurement of the completed excavations, stockpiles, pipework, and roadworks for as-built purposes and measurement for payment.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted for cross-checks.
- Manage & control the survey and performance of at least one pipe, roadworks, or earthworks team.
- Plan and conduct grid surveys to establish volumes and areas of usable material.
- Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects.
- Check and adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
- Train assistants and helpers and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or tasks.
