Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe & Timely Deliveries: Transport goods to various locations, ensuring deliveries are made on time and in good condition.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working order. Report any issues or necessary repairs to management.
- Loading & Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring they are handled carefully and loaded according to safety protocols.
- Route Planning: Plan efficient driving routes, using maps or GPS to navigate and avoid delays, ensuring deliveries are made according to schedule.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents or delays. Complete required delivery paperwork for each trip.
- Customer Interaction: Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with customers during deliveries, answering any questions they may have.
- Adherence to Safety Regulations: Follow all road safety rules and company policies, including load securing, speed limits, and driving hours.
Qualifications:
- A valid Code 10 or Code 14 drivers license.
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a truck driver.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and long-distance routes.
- A Matric certificate is a plus but not mandatory.
