The primary role of the Junior Maintenance planner is to assist the maintenance planner to improvethe maintenance work force efficiency and effectiveness, through planning and coordinating ofmaintenance labour, permits to work, parts, capturing of job-cards and material, tools andequipment. The Junior Maintenance planner must assist the Maintenance planner to administer, improve and maintain the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM) and perform the functions ofthe maintenance planner in his absence.
Main Responsibilities
- Review all Work Orders to ensure Work Order information is correct.
- Schedule all Unplanned Corrective Maintenance.
- Plan and schedule all Planned Corrective Maintenance (non-urgent) work orders.
- Plan all Work Orders in detail, following the Planning and Scheduling Procedure.
- Obtain quotations and specification for all maintenance parts and material needs as wellas verifying the availability of spare parts.
- Prepare Daily/weekly maintenance plans for the assignment of artisans based on inputfrom the Production personnel, Site Engineer and Maintenance Foreman. This includescoordination of all work with other work in the same area.
- Ensure that all safety work and maintenance plans will result in the highest priority workbeing executed first.
- Manage the backlog list with the Maintenance Supervisor within target
- Track all Work Orders to completion and maintain the correct status codes on WorkOrders as they progress.
- Reviews all completed Work Orders and ensure that they are closed on EA
- Update notice boards in Workshop with Maintenance Planning information.

- N6 / National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of 2 years production and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 1 years spent in maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably in a FMCG environment
- Experience in the implementation and operation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Self-motivated individual with superior analytical capabilities.
- Ability to think logically and to listen well.
- Good communication skills, including writing and speaking.
- MS Office/MS Projects/CMMS must have.
