EE Candidate with minimum 3 years’ Personal Lines Underwriting Management experience in the Short Term Insurance industry, required to manage the Personal Lines Department.
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12
- FAIS Compliance
- Minimum 5 years’ Personal Lines Underwriting experience essential
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing a Personal Lines Department/Underwriting Team essential
Responsibilities:
- Manage Personal Lines Department – 12 Underwriters and 3 Direct Sales Consultants
- Set individual and team targets
- Minimize cancellations
- Ensure new business targets are met
- Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
- Meet client satisfaction targets
- Ensure underwriting practices adhere to regulatory frameworks
- Provide advice to all stakeholders
- Act as liaison between client facing and internal servicing teams
- Keep abreast of product and services available to the market
- Deal with service complaints and escalations
- Compliance and quality requirements adherence
- Audits of persona lines underwriting
- Compile and distribute reports to stakeholders
- Performance management and address discrepancies
- Cancellation requests and business retention
- Assist with design of training material and SOP’s
- Assist with training development by coaching staff members
- Meet productivity targets
- Continuous improvement in own and team performance
- Adhere to company mandates
- Fraud detection and report
