The key purpose of this role is the operation of the utilities steam plant and the execution of quality control checks and monitoring. The Utilities Process Operator will be responsible for the monitoring and operation of the utilities plant.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Monitor boiler performance
- Monitor processes
- Key attributes and competencies
- Apply core competencies to achieve optimum plant and process performance
- Manage processes across Utilities plant
- Monitor and control production processes on shift using the correct tools as per the VPO standards (OWS, Team Rooms, 5S, etc)
- Perform quality analysis and ensure process quality and productivity is achieved on your shift
- Manage waste and by-products on shift
- Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Communicate effectively in the workplace
- Use escalation procedures to ensure that time to react is reduced
- Execute on VPO implementation plans as per the VPO standards
- Ensure proper understanding of VPO standards
- Execute on goals and ensure shift goals are met
- Apply problem solving and decision-making techniques and principles
- Ensure problem solving is initiated as per triggers on the OWS Development
- Drive your development plan- SKAP
- Grade 12
- N3 in a Technical Trade preferable but not required.
- PC literate (Microsoft/ SAP)
- Boiler Operator Certified (John Thompson)
- 2 Year's minimum experience
- Band: E
