Job requirements:
- Min 5 years’ experience in fuel depot Industry
- Must have Samtrac & SACPCMP (no exceptions)
- Sound knowledge of Construction Regulations
- OHS Act knowledge
- Must have own laptop
- Willing to travel and sleep out
- Own transport
- Neat and systematic worker
- Trade references will be contacted.
Job responsibilities:
- Create a complete health and safety file for various construction sites
- Ensuring that all sSub-contractors comply with Health & Safety Specifications and Regulations.
- Daily site walk about
- Daily safety stand downs
- Daily inductions for all sub-contractors
- Engage with sub-contractors in safety policies
- Conduct risk assessments
- Daily site inspections
- Attend or chair safety committee meeting
- Monthly site Audit on all Sub-contractors if applicable
- The developing of site specific Health & Safety Rules.
- The developing, reviewing and monitoring of site specific Health & Safety Plans
- The drafting of legal appointments.
- The developing, reviewing, monitoring and communicating of all Risk Assessments based on the provided methodology.
- The developing of Safe Work Procedures for all high risk activities & methodstatements for works carried out.
- The developing, reviewing, monitoring and communicating of the site specific Fall Protection Plans, where required.
- Conducting Personal Protective Equipment needs analysis
- Identifying the need for specialized training such as Scaffold Erecting/Inspecting and First Aid training and recommending authorised training facilitators/providers to management.
- Compiling site inspection reports after site visits for management’s attention.
- Conduct training (Inductions, Toolbox talks etc.) with the relevant responsible persons and the entire workforce on site.
- Attend or chair (when requested) Health & Safety Committee Meetings and provide feedback reports.
- Attend meetings and/or audits with the client’s health & safety agent.
- Conduct legal compliance audits on contractors.
- Aid with the Investigating of Accidents and Incidents.
- Assist with the maintenance of the safety file in collaboration with the appointed construction work supervisors on site.
- Liaise between the Department of Labour and the client
- Conduct formal inspections on equipment, tools, facilities, documentation and the general work place environment & keep registers of such inspections.
