We are looking to recruit a fixed-term/ maternity relief Reservationist to ensure that reservations are maximized through the booking, daily follow-up and confirmation of reservations and thereby ensuring maximum room revenue for the Hotel.

Key Responsibilities Of This Role Will Include
- Plan daily schedule of work
- Ensure all booking enquiries are dealt with timeously and accurately
- Ensure all member specific tasks (no show report; banking; arrival checks) are accurately processed and completed.
- Assist in achieving the minimum monthly prescribed targets set by hotel management, in accordance with the hotels annual budget. Ensure booking revenue is maximized and no unnecessary revenue is lost.
- Demonstrate a strong team support ethic despite the differences that exist in areas of responsibility and role profiles amongst co-workers
- Keep abreast of activities/offerings within the hotel and attempt to up sell these to guests, e.g., wine events, etc.
- Create all bookings according to the procedures in Opera. Link correct corporate company/agency to bookings if applicable. Ensure detailed billing instructions added to the booking upon creation.
- Update all channel bookings with the correct information as per the emails receive
- Matric
- Hotel Management diploma or degree advantageous
- Basic understanding of revenue management required
- Understanding of how to implement yield management principles
- Must have experience in similar position in a similar 4*/5* establishment
- Basic accounting skills
- Work various shifts when needed
- Computer Literate, including MS Office and Opera previous relevant experience at 4* establishment
Neat and professional appearance
Product knowledge of hotel and city
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use new technology
