As a Vitreoretinal Manager Coastal supporting the exceptional performance of Alcon's Vitreoretinal portfolio you will be trusted to work on drive sales and promote our Vitreoretinal product portfolio, including the Constellation system and related accessories across the Coastal area of South Africa (WC, EC and KZN). In this role, a typical day will include:
- Establishing trust, building relationships, and serving as a catalyst for consumable pull-through and product upgrades
- Involving a specialized focus on the Visualization Portfolio, with the objective of expanding and maintaining Alcon's market share in visualization products
- Nurturing strong relationships with VitRet specialists, training centers, and key opinion leaders in the industry, while continuously enhancing Alcon's reputation
- Expanding Alcon's VitRet install base by capturing competitive accounts and upgrading existing Alcon accounts to the latest technology
- Conducting thorough product demonstrations to effectively communicate the value proposition beyond equipment
- Collaborating with Account Managers (AMs) to identify potential targets and
- new customers
- Increasing equipment usage in high-volume Alcon accounts
- Supporting negotiations with VitRet surgeons, hospital buyers, hospital managers, and government officials
- Increase VitRet penetration in under-indexed markets.
- Notifying the Local Vigilance Officer or designated delegate within 24 hours of any adverse events or quality complaints, even during leave or public holidays
- Adhering to local SOPs related to quality assurance and pharmacovigilance
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a biomedical field or related discipline. Candidates with a strong understanding of medical devices and the ophthalmic industry will be preferred
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification is highly desirable. These certifications demonstrate practical knowledge and expertise in optometry and ophthalmic procedures
- Proven experience in sales and marketing within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the ophthalmology field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers, build relationships, and deliver impactful product demonstrations.
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and achieve ambitious targets.
