KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
- Control and supervision of staff in the warehouse department
- Ensure proper receipt of all goods into the warehouse via electronic means (and manually where required)
- Assist with and control the break bulk function and proper marking of items and storage within the warehouse.
- Ensure that proper stock records are kept and that goods are rotated on F.I.F.O basis
- Take stock and cycle counts as often as agreed with customer
- Report to management
- Ensure proper security is in place so that no unauthorized persons have access to the warehouse
- Responsible for the health and safety of staff and visitors.
- Drive continuous operational improvement/efficiencies.
- Ensure bond store register is maintained in line with SARS requirements
- Management and improvement of WMS systems and business processes
- Control and facility under control along with vendor management
Commercial
- Assist team in managing accounts under threat
- Establish customer needs, develop opportunities and expand customer base
- Assist in growing product by identifying new business
- Build solid professional relationships with client
- Analyse the actual cost versus budget and ensure that the remediation is executed where the costs are not within the budget
- Measure profitability of the client base
- Matric/Grade12
- Relevant Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience OR 2 years Managerial experience within a Warehouse environment
- Must have at least 5 years experience within the Courier & Logistics Industry
- Valid Drivers License
- Own transport essential
