Wholesale Executive (East London)

Were looking for an experienced Wholesale Executive to manage our most Significant Volume Customers (SVCs) in East London and surrounding areas. In this role, you will lead and nurture strong business relationships with key trade partners, driving volume, share of market (SOM), marginal contribution (MC), and distribution targets. Your leadership and expertise will be vital in implementing business plans that align with our commercial strategy, ensuring business growth and success.

Your Day To Day

Wholesale & Distributor Management

Lead the achievement of territory volume and MC targets by setting and communicating sales goals to distributors and wholesalers.

Collaborate with SVC customers in the region to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets across categories across our various product ranges.

Ensure efficient product availability, visibility, and competitive pricing. Identify distribution gaps and collaborate with partners to develop action plans that either capitalize on opportunities or close gaps.

Sales Order Generation & Stock Management

Negotiate efficient order sizes and values with SVCs, ensuring accurate margin calculations and pricing.

Conduct regular (weekly or biweekly) customer visits to ensure smooth operations, including order placement, stock management, and avoiding stockouts or overstocks.

Collaborate with the finance team to propose accurate credit limits and ensure timely customer payments.

Ensure stock is rotated accurately, minimizing returns and optimizing product shelf life through accurate first-in, first-out stock handling.

Reporting & Forecasting

Provide timely and accurate Stock on Hand reports for effective volume forecasting.

Regularly report on territory performance, product category trends, brand performance, and consumer behavior, consolidating feedback into comprehensive data for the sales & operations planning process.

Customer Relationship Management

Foster and sustain positive relationships with trade partners, conducting monthly business reviews to address queries and improve customer happiness.

Coordinate third-party deliveries and ensure high levels of service to all departments, acting as a liaison between customers and other functions within the organization.

Budget Management

Monitor and balance allocated budgets, ensuring adherence to regulations and assessing the value gained on a monthly basis.

Provide ongoing budget reports and evaluations of return on investment to the Area Sales Manager for assessment.

What Were Looking For
  • Minimum Matric Certificate
  • A driver's license that is valid for more than 12 months is required
  • A Sales or Marketing diploma would be advantageous
  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience in a focused wholesale or distributor commercial-related role
  • Solid experience in Significant Volume Customers (SVCs) at both strategic and tactical levels
